"There was a disturbance in my heart, a voice that spoke there and said, I want, I want, I want! It happened every afternoon, and when I tried to suppress it it got even stronger."
Saul Bellow (1915-2005)
I have always had an enthusiasm for artistic expression. Creating hair and makeup is the joy of my life, my passion. My first venture into the makeup industry began in 2002 when I took a makeup course and received a certificate at Marvel College at the age of 16. After graduating from Victoria Composite High School of Performing Arts in Edmonton I took hairstyling and received my certificate from Marvel College in 2005. I continued working as a hairstylist at an upscale salon, to become licensed in 2007, and a Red Seal journeyman in 2008. After doing hair for four years I still wanted to follow my passion of being a makeup artist so I attended Vancouver Film School taking Makeup Design for Film and TV, graduating in 2009 with excellence. Shortly after graduating, I competed in the International Makeup Artist Tradeshow prosthetic competition. I have gone on to receive my permittee status for the Hair and Makeup departments in the local ACFC union, as well as my makeup permittee status in the IATSE union.
I currently work as a freelance hair and makeup artist residing in Vancouver, BC. My work includes film, television, music videos, editorial work, fashion shows, and weddings.
I have an inherently creative nature, and I believe my perceptive and attentive abilities make me a competent and inventive artist.
